Programs for Children & Families
The Asheville Art Museum provides programs throughout the year for children and families. Parents: request to be added to our mailing list and be the first to find out about the Museum’s upcoming programs! Thank you to the Walnut Cove Member’s Association, which awarded a grant of $3500 to support the Museum’s K-12 educational programs including Summer Art Camp, Holiday Arts Extravaganza, After-School Art Adventures, Family Days and the Western North Carolina Regional Scholastic Art Awards.

After-School Art Adventures
Join us from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at East Asheville Public Library each first Wednesday, or Leicester Public Library each second Wednesday! Click here for upcoming dates.
Mixed Up and Messy!

Art is fun! Join us each week to explore the elements of art including line, shape and color. We will inspire your imagination with art from the Museum’s Permanent Collection, stories and hands-on art-making. Each session includes time for free play at the Center.
Seasonal Family Days
Family Days are offered 2 to 3 times a year in conjunction with the Museum’s exhibitions. Activities usually include guided exhibition tours, a hands-on studio project for children and adults and refreshments. Summer Art Camp
Summer Art Camp is offered to rising K through 12th grade students. Enrollment is limited and pre-registration is required. Registration includes admission to the Museum and all materials necessary for each class. Classes are held in the studio of the Museum’s East Wing. Students may sign up for morning, afternoon or all-day sessions. All-day students will have a supervised lunch break.
Save the date! Summer Art Camp 2017 will be offered in June and July. Registration begins March 1!

Enrollment is not confirmed until class registration and payment are received. Places are reserved on a first-paid, first-admitted policy. The Asheville Art Museum reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient registration. In such cases, all registrants will be contacted and promptly mailed a full refund. A written confirmation will be sent to you within two weeks of receipt of your camp registration form and payment. It is Museum policy to refund class registration fees up until two weeks prior to a child’s entry into the class minus the $15 processing fee. The processing fee increases to $30 for cancellations made within two weeks of the camp start date. No refunds are made after camp session begins.
