Children’s Programs at the Museum

Summer Art Camp (register here for 2013)

Summer Art Campers spend their summer days in the Art Museum’s studio with talented art instructors exploring and creating art of various media. Pre-registration is required. You may sign up for All-Day sessions or choose from a variety of Half-Day sessions.

Tot Time

For Pre-school children accompanied by an adult / children under 5 admitted free to the Museum everyday

Enjoy this new program on Tuesday February 19, March 19, April 16 and May 21, each at 10:30 a.m. Parents with pre-school age children are invited to discover the art of play in our interactive Art PLAYce for Children, located in the Museum’s East Wing, where tiny tots will enjoy guided activities designed especially for our youngest visitors to the Museum! Holiday Art Camp:

Every holiday season the Asheville Art Museum opens its studios for Holiday Art Campers to enjoy hands-on art making of all kinds. What better way for your child to spend their holiday break than stretching their own creative skills at the Museum surrounded by inspiring American art? We hope your child will join us for all of the fun next December (2013 dates forthcoming).


After-School Program:

The Asheville Art Museum periodically offers after-school art programs for area  students. Most recently, a series of printmaking classes were offered to 6th through 8th graders, during which students experimented with a wide variety of printmaking techniques and materials. Home School Program

Home-school students in Grades 1 – 4 are invited to a series of three home-school programs taking place at the Museum this fall. For early 2013, classes are scheduled for February 12, March 12, April 9 and May 14, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. and are $4 per student, per session. Advance registration is required.
