Dunes and Grass
George Grosz (1893-1959) was born in Berlin, Germany. He was a painter, writer and caricaturist. He studied at the Dresden and Berlin academies. He became a part of the Berlin dada movement in 1918. George Grosz caricatured the German bourgeoisie and the German military. In 1925 he approached that type of realism designated as "new matter-of-factness."
