Herb Cohen (9/26/1931- ) is both a sculptor and ceramist. He is currently most well known for his stoneware. His works have been exhibited at a host of museums and art galleries nation-wide. Some of his pieces were included in the 1984 exhibit, "USA Portrait of the South" in Rome, Italy. He has won many awards from museums in several states, including North Carolina and New York. Herbert Cohen worked in Hickory, North Carolina as a designer at the Hyalyn Porcelain Company, and as the Exhibitions Director at the Mint Museum in Charlotte. He has worked extensively with the American Crafts Council and the Peidmont Craftsmen, Inc.
