Elly Simmons

Elly Simmons (1955- ) was born in New York City.  She received a B.F.A. in painting from San Jose State University in California.  Simmons has worked in various media, including oils, pastels, lithography, mosaic, and tapestry.  Her art has won numerous awards, including first place in the National Exhibition at Clary Miner Gallery in Buffalo, New York, and an award of excellence at the Saratoga Arts Festival in California.  Simmons taught at the Artists Survival Skills Workshop from 1989 until 1992.  She is currently living and working in California.
