Edith Neff

Edith Neff's (1943-11/16/1995) lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania her entire life.  She exhibited her work in various one-woman and group exhibitions around the country, including an exhibition at the Philadelphia Art Alliance in 1996.  According to her obituary in the Philadelphia Inquirer, "In her pastel drawings, she was fascinated with the interaction of color, light and texture.  Her oil paintings often reflected mythological themes." Neff won several awards during her career including the Venture Fund Grant from the Carnegie-Mellon Foundation/The Philadelphia College of Art in 1983 and 1986, the Pennsylvania Council of Arts Fellowship Grant in 1982, and several juror's awards and purchase prizes.  Neff's work is in collections around the country, including the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Delaware Museum of Art, the Minnesota Museum of Art, and the IBM Corporation.
