Get in contact with your mind and spiritual self by making a visual representation of your connection to the universe. Using oil paint, inspirational music, a purposeful journey through the Museum’s Collection, and an experimental use of color, design, and perspective, create your own cosmically-inspired composition on canvas.

Instructor R. Bruce Brennan teaches painting to students of all ages. Influenced by 1960s countercultural philosophy and world travels, his luminous, atmospheric landscapes are exhibited throughout the US. His formal art education includes the Cooper Union and Paris’s Ecole des Beaux Arts, and he holds an undergraduate degree from the San Francisco Art Institute.

Adult Studio

The Museum's studio program for adults offers a core curriculum in drawing, painting, printmaking, and three-dimensional media, and also explores the intersections between them. Local and visiting artists help students of all levels and abilities develop skills in media that reflect techniques and themes featured in the Museum’s Collection and special exhibitions. Classes meet for 3–12 weeks, and are designed for anyone interested in exploring specific media in depth; daylong workshops introduce new media or processes.
