Hear Our Voice

Dates:
May 20 - July 16, 2017
Location:
Asheville Art Museum On the Slope (175 Biltmore Avenue)

Hear Our Voice features a selection of posters organized by The Amplifier, a “visual media experiment dedicated to amplifying the voices of grassroots movements through art and community engagement.” The Amplifier Foundation commissions posters and also accepts submissions from artists that address current issues. This exhibition explores the potential of visual art to empower people, artists, and communities and promote dialogue. Hear Our Voice includes individual works by more than 40 woman-identified artists, as well as selections from Jessica Sabogal’s Better Than Perfect and Shepard Fairey’s We the People series.

Thank you to Asheville Color & Imaging for their generous support of this exhibition.
