2018 WNC Regional Scholastic Art Awards

Dates:
January 27-March 4, 2018
Location:
Asheville Art Museum On the Slope (175 Biltmore Avenue)

The Asheville Art Museum is the regional host of the annual Scholastic Art juried competition for students in grades 7-12 from all across WNC. The regional program is supported by the Museum’s volunteer docents, the Asheville Area Section of the American Institute of Architects and Base Camp AVL. A selection of artwork receiving regional awards will be on view in the Museum on the Slope from January 27 – March 4, 2018. Regional Gold Key recipients’ work will be sent to the National Scholastic Art competition in New York City. For more information on the Scholastic Art Awards, visit www.artandwriting.org.

All regional award recipients will be honored at a ceremony on Sunday, February 25 at 1:30 p.m. in the Diana Wortham Theatre, followed by a reception at the Asheville Art Museum On the Slope at 175 Biltmore Ave.

We are pleased to dedicate this exhibition as part of the celebration of the North Carolina Arts Council’s 50th anniversary. The North Carolina Arts Council has worked to bring the arts to all 100 counties in North Carolina since 1967. We are grateful for their support and leadership, and we invite you to join us in celebration by visiting their 50th Anniversary website.
