Have you spotted this, dare-we-say, adorable pink cube in our SECU Collection Hall? We had to add an extra “do not touch” sign, because people couldn’t resist. Trust us, though: it’s not squishy!
The delicate pink color that dances through this form seems to capture and project light. The soft glow presents a direct contradiction to the firmness of the polyester resin. Peter Alexander’s geometric forms of dreamlike colors are inspired by the clean, sleek lines of rising car and surf culture combined with Southern California’s natural beauty.
Another note from one of our curatorial staff: sometimes Alexander’s blocks are named after his friends. We don’t know if this is one of them, but it’s possible?
